    This detailed map covers an area of north Halifax that includes Ovenden Cross and Holmfield, with coverage eastward to Dam Head and Shibden Dale.

    Features include railway with Ovenden and Holmfield stations (the latter at top of map), tramways, Pule Hill, Scout Hall, Lee House, Water Scout, Boothtown Mills, Ovenden Iron Works, Howcans Fireclay Works, Shibden Mill Inn, Ovenden Hall, Ovenden House, Shay Lane Mill, Empire Works etc. The Ovenden and Northowram entries from an 1889 directory are included on the reverse.


    The map links up with Sheets 230.04 Mixenden to the west, 231.05 Halifax North to the south.
