Here are the details of maps for Edinburgh (E):
We have published three versions of this map, showing how the area developed across the years. The maps cover the eastern part of central Edinburgh, with coverage stretching from Waverley station eastward to Whinney Hill and from West Nicolson Street northward to Hillside Crescent.
Features on this busy map include eastern part of Waverley station, University of Edinburgh, Pleasance Brewery, Queen's Park, Holyrood Palace, Calton Hill, Regent Gardens, North and South Bridge, Greenside area, Moray Park Maltings, St Margaret's Works & Locomotive Depot, tramways, Meadowbank area, Abbey Brewery, City Hospital, etc. On the reverse we include extracts from contemporary street directories.
The map links up with Edinburgh Sheets 3.04 Leith Walk to the north, 3.07 Central Edinburgh to the west, 4.05 Portobello W to the east, 3.12 Newington to the south.
Maps in the Godfrey Edition are taken from the 25 inch to the mile map and reduced to about 15 inches to the mile. For a full list of maps for Scotland, return to the Scotland page.
