Old Ordnance Survey Inch to the Mile Maps

    This One Inch to the Mile map covers the area of West Dorset from Maiden Newton westward to Charmouth, and from Evershot southward to Abbotsbury.

    Features include the towns of Bridport, Maiden Newton and Beaminster, including the railway to Bridport, and a stretch of the Dorset coast. On the reverse we include a detailed map of the small town of Beaminster, Hardy's Emminster, where features include St Mary's church, Manor House, Holy Trinity church, Shortmoor, Newtown, Whatley Farm, Market Place, and the town centre shown in detail with individual buildings neatly delineated.

    It is not possible to list the many hamlets, farmsteads and other topographical features shown on these maps. However, you may find it useful if we list the towns and principal villages or church parishes that are included on this map.
