Here is information about Sheet 131:
This One Inch to the Mile map covers the northern coastal area of Norfolk around Cromer and Sheringham. Coverage stretches from Morston and the Blakeston Channel eastward to Southrepps, and from the coast southward to Gunton Park. The map features an interesting stretch of coastline, where railway communications - including here the Suffolk Jount Railway and Midland & Great Northern Joint Rly - had helped Cromer and Shgeringham grow from villages into modest seaside resorts; while further west Blakeney had declined as a port as ships became too large (in 1904 a 73 ton coaster was stranded here for a month before it could sail out). On the reverse we include an extract from Norfolk Sheet 9.04, covering the village of Cley next the Sea in detail, complete with a directory.
It is not possible to list the many hamlets, farmsteads and other topographical features shown on these maps. However, you might find it useful if we here list the majority of the principal villages and church parishes that are included on this map. Links are given for those for which detailed large-scale maps are also available.
